G’day and welcome back to another week of the freshest Pokémon news caught and bred to perfection through many picnics by me, Cooltrainer Ace.

Here’s this week’s rundown (estimated read time, 2 minutes):

Chesnaught & Iron Treads/Great Tusk are back baby!

It’s time to hunt some squirrel and elephant! After being cancelled three weeks ago, in a day that will live in Poké-Infamy forever, all three events are back now and running through… does a quick Google to figure out wtf UTC time is… 7:59 p.m. Eastern/ 4:59 p.m. Pacific on Sunday, June 18,

Remember, Chesnaught can only be caught once per save file, but you can stock up on as many past and future Donphans as your heart desires. They also don’t have a set Tera-type, so hunt away for your perfect fit!

According to Pokémon streamer @Light_88_ we can turn back to our old pal Annihilape once more to grant us victory.

June Community Day & GO Fest announcements

Don’t forget, Community Day is this Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time featuring Axew. Evolving to its final form, Haxorus during or up to 5 hours after the event will get you the Charged Attack Breaking Swipe.

In other news, more details for GO Fest 2023 were announced this week, including the debut of Diancie (behind the paid ticket paywall, of course) and new unlocked shinies (for everyone!) including:

  • Goomy

  • East & West Sea Shellos

  • Joltik

  • Oranguru

The global event is scheduled for August 26-27.

Obscure Pokémon Fact of the Day (from u/Mx_Toniy_4869)

Explanation: The Shuckle must be from Gen 3, where it can learn Defense Curl and Mimic through move tutors. Transfer it to Gen 6, and grind to level 100.

In a triple battle, Shuckle must be holding the item Metronome. First, use Mimic to get Ice Ball, then use Defense Curl and Power trick. Use swagger and Screech to get Shuckle to +6 Attack and the opponent, a level 1 Noibat, to -6 Defense. Use Forest’s Curse on Noibat. Skill Swap Shuckle to have the ability Protean, then have it use Ice Ball. Before the 5th Ice Ball, Skill Swap Huge Power onto Shuckle, switch both of its Allies to Cherrim and use Sunny Day. On the turn of the 5th Ice Ball, have both Cherrim use Helping Hand on Shuckle. If the target of this hit is Noibat and it resulted in both a max damage roll and critical hit, Noibat would receive 577519894 damage.
