New Scarlet Violet Raids and... lots of wait

Home updates & the anime leaving us hanging

Hey there, it's your Pokéboy Cooltrainer Ace here, digging up more news than a trio of Digletts, even on the slow news weeks.

Inteleon comes to Tera Raids, Walking Wake & Iron Leaves Return

Inteleon is sliding into your DMs Tera Raids smoother than James Bond at a cocktail party beginning this evening (April 27) at 5 p.m. The event lasts until Sunday, April 30 at 4:59 PDT (Pacific) then returns Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

The biggest thing you want to watch out for is Inteleon's Snipe Shot, which will absolutely wreck Raid teams. Early counters from @pkmncast suggest:

  • Blissey with Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Skill Swap, and Life Dew.

  • Samurott with Smart Strike, Focus Energy, Swords Dance, and Soak.

  • Slowking with Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Light Screen, and Nasty Plot

  • Drednaw with Gastro Acid (egg move), Stone Edge, Razor Shell, and Swords Dance.

And, if you missed them the first time around, be sure to lock down your Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, who return to 5-star raids Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday, May 14, 2023, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Remember, Walking Wake is exclusive to Scarlet and Iron Leaves to Scarlet, though you can join anyone else's raid for either, regardless of your version. You can only catch each once per save.

As the Magikarp salesman outside Mt. Moon told me, an opportunity like this only comes around once in a lifetime, so don't miss these two new Legendaries! Chances are they won't be back a third time.

DLC news but no way Home

A new product image from Japan suggests both Teal Mask (Part 1) AND Indigo Disk (Part 2) will be coming in 2023, rather than the 2024 release some people are predicting for Indigo Disk. My source? This pic, shared on Twitter by @soulsilverart, that clearly shows 2023 listed on both expansions.

The official Pokémon site says "Fall 2023" for Teal Mask and "Winter 2023" for Indigo Disk, leaving us to wonder if that means September/November and really hoping "Winter 2023" doesn't become February 2024.

But Cooltrainer Ace, why should we be worried? They both say 2023, don't they?

Well, we're heading into May and STILL don't have a release date for the Pokémon Home update that will make it compatible with Scarlet and Violet. This was promised with the same vague seasonal reference (Spring 2023), way back on Pokémon Day in February.

Now, obviously spring ain't over yet, judging by the Gloom pollen wrecking my sinuses, but we're getting toward the second half of the season without any info. I'm going to plan on June and be surprised if anything happens in May.

P.S. If anyone can tell me what sort of product we're looking at in the picture above, you win a Slowpoke Tail.

Where u at, Ash? No sign of the finale in sight.

Speaking of the waiting game, for those of us waiting to experience Ash's farewell with English dubs, don't get too excited.

If past experience is any indication, Netflix is usually 4-5 months behind on each part. That means Part 3 is coming out May-July, while the grand finale may not be released until end of year: October-December. Maybe we can all gather round the Christmas Tree and bid Ash and Pikachu a fond farewell.

Researching this topic kinda felt like trying to find the SINGLE tile to fish for Feebas in Gen 3 (aka why is something this simple so hard???).

Random encounters around the internet

Serebii.net got an exclusive reveal on two cards for the upcoming Scarlet & Violet Paldea Evolved TCG set and whoa buddy, this ain't your grandaddy's Gen 1 Tauros. The set releases June 9, 2023.

Niantic announced the May Spotlight Hours for Pokémon GO (6pm to 7pm local time):
