New Pokémon revealed for Scarlet/Violet
And more Gengars than you can say boo at
Welcome to September, the month of extra summer, new Pokémon and Green Day's annual hibernation. Halloween must be a-coming, based on all the Gengar pics in this email.
New Pokémon revealed for ScarVi

Okay, let's get this out of the way right now. From the beginning and until the end of time, this dude is going to be known as Grafiki to me. And let's be honest, Grafiki is a better name anyway. It's cool if you wanna steal it—just tell people you got it from The Victory Road ;).
Anywho, this mischievous lad was introduced last week through a sort of Bigfoot Hunter meets National Geographic clip. Check it out here and join me in wishing for a full-length Pokémon Nature Special series.
Before the big reveal, fans speculated we were in store for a Smeargle evolution. I must say, our boi Grafiki far surpasses any Smeargle line additions. And the Normal/Poison combo offers a surprising amount of coverage. Based on the official description, I'm guessing berries may play a strategic role in using this Pokémon in battle:
This Pokémon specializes in using its poisonous saliva—which changes color depending on what the Pokémon eats—to attack foes by spitting at them or by slashing at them after coating its claws with the saliva.
What do you think of the new Pokémon? Planning on adding Grafaia Grafiki to your team?
Exactly two months and two weeks until release!
September GO Breakdown

September kicks off the Season of Light, the latest theme running now through December 1. Featuring Cosmog, Professor Willow is back and it looks like he stole John Travolta's jacket from Grease. There's also a new weather event called Nebula Skies. My guess is they'll have something to do with Research Projects and perhaps tie in to Cosmog's evolution requirement.
Here's the summary of everything lined up for this month. For a full list of Pokémon in seasonal spawns and eggs, check out the official GO site.

Trick or Trade, smell my Gallade - new booster bundle

I'm embarrassed to admit how long that little Gallade pun took. And I just realized Roserade probably makes more sense. Oh well.
Out September 1, this booster bundle may be intended for trick-or-treaters but there's nothing stopping you form hoarding it all for yourself (just like you did with the house that gave out the regular-sized candy bards when you were a kid). There isn't any new artwork in this set BUT these cards are stamped with a Pikachu-shaped pumpkin as an incentive for collectors.
Each bundle contains 40 mini packs with three cards each. Check out the full list of cards in the set here.
Mew is coming to UNITE - get it fo free

I'm gonna level with you. The official UNITE announcement explains this much better than I could, since I don't play it. So here's what you needs ta know:
For a limited time starting September 2, 2022, by participating in the special in-game event Mew’s Mural Challenge, you can obtain Mew’s Unite license without spending Aeos coins or Aeos gems. Earn points by logging in, participating in and winning battles, and doing other in-game activities to collect all six mural fragments and unlock Mew’s Unite license.
This special event ends October 12, 2022, at which point Mew’s Unite license will be available in the Unite Battle Committee shop for 12,000 Aeos coins. Players will not be able to obtain Mew’s Unite license at the Unite Battle Committee shop during the event, but they will be able to use Aeos gems to progress through Mew’s Mural Challenge more quickly.
Alongside Mew’s debut in Pokémon UNITE, two more Pokémon will make their way to Aeos Island this September. The Triple Bird Pokémon, Dodrio, sprints into the fray on September 14, 2022, while the Pincer Pokémon Scizor will slash its way into Pokémon UNITE on September 28, 2022.
MOAR free Pokemans!

That's right, now's your chance to scoop up more mons from Ash's team to your Sword or Shield game. Last week, I shared the Mystery Gift code for Ash's Dragonite (UM1N0KESH1N, good til Thursday, September 8.).
Now, we're on to the next: Ash's Gengar, which is available in Sword/Shield until September 15 with Mystery Gift GENNGER0GE94. This purple people eater is Level 80 and knows Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Dazzling Gleam, and Will-o-wisp. It's ability is Cursed Body, which has a 30% chance of disabling a move whenever Gengar is hit by that move. Best of all, Ash's Gengar can GIGANTAMAX.
Don't dawdle to add these two to your team. Rumor has it, Ash might be retiring from the game after the current anime season, meaning this could be your last chance to snag his Pokémon team to your collection.
