MEGA updates & new Hisuian Web Anime

G'day and welcome to May. We've got the lowdown on this month's GO events, a release date for the latest YouTube web anime and more Pokèshenanigans
Let's do this.
PLA Web Anime
Crank up the ole YouTube. A brand new Web Anime based on Pokémon Legends Arceus premieres May 18. This three episode series is called Pokémon: Hisuian Snow and it's set in VAST Hisui. Cuz, you know, Hisui is VAST. Just ask Irida.
No word yet on length but I'd guess they'll be in the 7-12 minute range each. Here's the official synopsis:
The story of a boy named Alec and his encounter with a Hisuian Zorua. When he was younger, Alec's father taught him that people and Pokémon cannot live together. But Alec's interactions with the Zorua might offer a different lesson.
I swear if this ends like Where the Red Fern Grows or Old Yeller they're gonna wreck me.
A Mega overdue update
A large (you thought I was going to say mega) rework by Niantic is live and completely changed the Mega Evolution Process. The biggest change is that trainers only have to use Mega Energy ONCE to evolve their Pokémon to mega form. Like before, the Pokémon will be fatigued after Mega Evolving and will still have a cooldown before they can evolve again. Now, trainers can use Mega Energy to reduce this cooldown.

Existing bonuses
Increased Candy when you catch Pokémon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
While attacking with a Mega-Evolved Pokémon in a Raid Battle or a Gym battle, the attacks of other Trainers’ Pokémon challenging that same raid or Gym will deal more damage. Their Pokémon’s attacks will deal even more damage if the attack is the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
New bonuses
Increased chance of earning Candy XL when you catch Pokémon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
Increased XP for catching Pokémon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
A Pokémon’s rest period decreases as its Mega Level increases.
