Iron Moth & Slither Wing: not bad superhero names
And a barrage of Pokémon GO events
Happy almost-Autumn, Cooltrainers! Your best pal, Cooltrainer, Ace is back at it again, filling up your inbox with the awesomest Pokémon news across the internet. I’m like a Full Restore for your heart and soul.
Here’s this week’s rundown (estimated read time, 4 minutes):
The latest 5-star Tera Raids hitting Scarlet & Violet this weekend.
A roundup of current and upcoming Pokémon GO events, including Saturday’s Community Day.
Bougie Lechonk is your Card of the Week.
Mon Mothma got nothing on these two… wrong reference?
Iron Moth and Slither Wing arrive in 5-star Tera Raids
Grab your bug zappers and a mega fly swatter (Tinkaton’s hammer will do in a pinch). Iron Moth and Slither Wing are the next set of 5-star Tera Raids coming to Scarlet and Violet. Each will appear in the version they are normally exclusive to (Slither Wing in Scarlet and Iron Moth in Violet).
Bug Tera Type will be more common for Slither Wing while Grass Tera Type is more common for Iron Moth. The raid event runs Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24 at 4:59 Pacific/ 7:59 Eastern.
P.S. What’s the most terrifying bug you can imagine based on name alone and why is it Slither Moth?
He’s so cute but he runs into everything
Pokémon GO Roundup
Am I the only one who feels like GO events are coming in faster and furiouser than Vin Diesel these days? Seriously, we’re lining them up back to back almost. Niantic is definitely giving off desperate person trying to extend the relationship vibes. Just fix remote raids and we can go back to being a happy couple.
🚨Community Day Alert🚨This Saturday, September 23, grab your Grubbin from 2-5 p.m. local time. Evolve Charjabug near a Magnetic Lure to get Vikavolt with the Fast Attack Volt Switch.
Mixing it up with a little graphic action.
I faithfully covered the Psychic Spectacular Breakdown (which started today) in last week’s email. It runs until Sunday, September 24 at 8 p.m. local time. Good luck shiny hunting Solosis for the first time!
Out to Play Event
Coming Wednesday, September 27 at 10 a.m. through Monday, October 2, at 8 p.m. local time, the out to Play event debuts shiny Hisuian Growlithe for the first time in 2 km and 7 km Eggs plus Filed Research Encounters.
Wild Encounters: Psyduck, Growlithe, Onix, Eevee, Feebas, Woobat, and Pawmi (all shiny unlocked except for Pawmi). Arcanine are also rare spawns (no chance of shiny).
Field Research Encounters: Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Sneasel, Hisuian Qwilfish, Pawmi (all shiny locked except for Hisuian Growlithe).
Event Bonuses:
Kecleon will be appearing more frequently at PokéStops. (No loitering, lizard! …and yes I know he’s a chameleon).
3x XP for completing a Route (am I the only one who has yet to SEE a route?!)
Earn Buddy Candy faster while exploring Routes with your buddy (Cooltrainer Ace: if said routes indeed exist).
And, last but not least, GO continues its quest for Global Dominance: the Hindi language now supported in Pokémon GO. There’s a special event for trainers in India to celebrate.
Card of the Week
If you don’t consider yourself a fine art connoisseur, you will after reading the official description of the Lechonk Obsidian Flames Illustration Rare below. Swirl that wine and stick your nose a little higher in the air—you’ve earned it.
You wouldn’t expect elegance from a card featuring Lechonk, but in artist Narumi Sato’s deft hands, even the Hog Pokémon takes on an air of refinement. Sure, it’s passed out on the floor after what appears to have been a very large meal. And yes, it appears to be drooling with the remnants of that meal still scattered about its face. But consider the elaborate and highly realistic tile pattern on the floor, the beauty of the nearby potted plants, the masterful play of light and shadow across the floor. The colors are bright but thoughtfully chosen, almost as though Sato set out to illustrate a beautiful room and a Pokémon somehow appeared after the fact. And yet, the incongruence just serves to highlight the beauty of the setting and the hilarity of Lechonk’s personality.
Random encounters around the internet
Lucario and the Mystery of Mew is free to watch on Pokémon TV until September 29.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will get a patch in the first half of October to fix an issue where players’ trainer victories may not be recorded. Currently, this can prevent rewards from League Officials in Paldea and the Kitakami Ogre Clan. It also will fix an issue where Special Pokémon sent from Pokémon GO cannot be transferred into Scarlet & Violet even if it was obtained before in Scarlet & Violet Version 1.3.2 (source: Serebii)
This romhack is a masterpiece in the making:
Style showcase for my Romhack project. Lots to add, fix, and clean up. But this is the culmination of the last month and a half of my life

Obscure Pokémon Fact of the Day (from u/Mx_Toniy_4869)
For the uneducated (like me), Diantha is the champion of the Kalos region. I’ll get there someday!
Until next time,
Cooltrainer “don’t know Diantha” Ace
